Friday, November 27th, 2009

This week was another doctor appointment! I had planned to go next week, but because I am past 14 weeks, I decided to get the flu shot as early as possible. Getting the flu can be dangerous in the second and third trimester, especially if when you are in labor. It’s important to get vaccinated for both the seasonal flu and swine flu. This (more…)

Baby starts a rapid growth spurt at the beginning of the second trimester. Organs and tissues start to develop fully, and pretty soon your baby will be fully formed. At this point, your baby is 3 inches long head to toe and weighs approximately half an ounce. She’ll begin responding to stimuli even though you cannot feel it yet. Some women begin to experience a (more…)

Pregnancy Diary – Week 12

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

The end of this week marks an important milestone – the end of the first trimester and the beginning of the second! Once you’ve reached this stage, the whole pregnancy experience changes – your risk of miscarriage is very low and the nausea will start to fade. You’re also not at the point where you’re lugging a 5-7 pound baby, so you’re feeling quite great! This week, your uterus will move out of the pelvic bone, so you should find that you don’t need to run to the bathroom as often as before. You can also expect to (more…)
