At 22 weeks, your baby looks like a miniature newborn, measuring about 10.9 inches and weighing almost a pound. Her skin will still be wrinkled until she gains enough weight to fill it out, and if you could see inside your womb, you’d be able to spot the fine hair covering her body. Her eyelids, eyebrows, and lips are becoming more distinct, and she’s developing little tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but the iris still lacks pigment. Her inner ear is now developed to the point that she even has her own sense of balance.
You’ve probably started to discover that it can be difficult to find comfortable sleeping positions. Some good news: There are actually pillows designed for pregnant woman which will give you a better chance of sleeping through the night. There are many different designs to choose from to help relieve some of the discomfort you may be experiencing right now.
In response to the question, “Is there anything I can do about stretch marks? They are so itchy!” – Holly S. from California
Stretch marks are extremely common. Do not be fooled into buying really expensive creams. They will not make stretch marks ‘magically disappear’. You can try applying creams with a lot of Vitamin E , or creams containing cocoa butter. They have a reputation of helping with stretch marks, but of course there is no guarantee. Aloe-vera should help relieve the itching.
