So luckily, the nausea didn’t kick in yet. I expect it will start within the next week or two. I am feeling more tired, though and I’m constantly running to the bathroom. At this time, my baby is less than .04 inches, around the size of a poppy seed! Hard to imagine…
At week 4, the fetus attaches to the uterus lining so the placenta can form to nourish the baby throughout the pregnancy. The vital organs will begin to form as baby starts to grow at an incredible rate. Tiny bumps on the body will eventually turn into cute little feet, hands, arms, elbows, toes and fingers. Week 4 is one of the turning points in the pregnancy. It is critical that mom avoids all harmful substances (smoking, alcohol, drugs). It’s common to feel abdominal cramping, fatigue and breast tenderness.
Make sure to check with your doctor if you are taking any prescription or over-the-counter medication. From now until week 10 are the most critical weeks of the pregnancy. Your baby’s vital organs are forming and it’s important that anything that can be harmful to their growth is safely out of the way.
Well, I’m going to end for this week – gotta go catch a nap.
