Many expectant moms worry about this during pregnancy. Will I squash my baby? Will I cut off the blood supply? Well, now we have some good news. Your uterus is cushioned behind your pubic bone early in the pregnancy, which provides complete protection. Later on, you probably will be too uncomfortable to sleep on your stomach. Sleeping on your left side is the best position to ensure baby gets the right amount of blood flow and nutrients needed to grow properly and stay healthy. However, the only position to avoid is sleeping on your back, as it applies pressure on the veins, minimizing the blood flow. Just remember to use lots of pillows to stay comfortable so you can get the rest you need to prepare you for your upcoming arrival!
